Today, Monday, May 20th, is World bee day!

From 2016 to 2018, OLVEA set up several public/private partnerships and engaged human and financial resources in order to develop a beeswax supply chain in West Africa.

In 2 years, we have been able to:
• Set up more than 8.500 hives in Burkina Faso and Mali,
• Provide specialized apicultural kits and training on good agricultural practices to hundreds of beekeepers,
• Test several business model for this supply chain.

Impacts of this supply chain:
• Diversification of the producers’ incomes
• Preservation of biodiversity

Bees plays a major role in the pollination and therefore,
in plant breeding and genetic diversity.
