OLVEA Burkina Faso became a UEBT member in march 2013, and commits to the principles of Ethical BioTrade: ensuring that sourcing practices promote the conservation of biodiversity, respect traditional knowledge and assure the equitable sharing of benefits all along the supply chain.
OLVEA has been working for women’s empowerment for years whether it be in france or africa, and especially in OLVEA’s sustainable Shea supply chain in Burkina Faso. We are working with more than 21.000 women producers of Shea nuts, which provides them with an additional source of income, some economic independance and sustainable livelihoods.

Last May, the exhibition “Femmes en résistance”, organized by the association “Femmes d’ici et d’ailleurs” and partially financed by the Philanthropic Fund of the OLVEA Group, was set up in Ouagadougou and Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso.
Responsible & Fair-Trade certification by Ecocert Following it subsidiary OLVEA Burkina Faso, OLVEA Vegetable Oils is now approved as Responsible by Ecocert according to the ESR standards (Fairness, Solidarity, Responsibility), with the Excellence level, highest attainable level. OLVEA now offers an organic and Fair-Trade Shea butter certified by Ecocert.
In order to better meet the growing demands of the international cosmetics market, OLVEA Burkina Faso has built a new factory in Bobo Dioulasso.
